LAPD looks for answers in Leeds
Los Angeles Police Department’s Lieutenant Mark Stainbrook is studying British community policing in Leeds to learn lessons from West Yorkshire Police, who he sees as making great strides in forging closer links with local Muslim communities and dealing with the threat of ‘homegrown’ terrorism.
Through his research project, Lieutenant Stainbrook hopes to return to the US with a toolkit of practical ideas for police officers who are increasingly trying to ensure effective law enforcement against a backdrop of heightened tensions since 9/11. Read More » |
