Laura qualified into our Professional Indemnity department and specialises in professional negligence claims against solicitors. Laura has particular experience in defending claims and investigating coverage of litigated and pre-litigated claims.

Prior to qualifying into Professional Indemnity Laura worked as a property paralegal for 18 months, she then commenced her training contract at a niche construction law firm where she gained specialist experience in both contentious and non contentious construction. Laura completed her training contract national defendant litigation firm where she acted for a variety of clients including insurers, three supermarkets and local authorities and gained extensive knowledge of fast track and multi track litigation. Consequently Laura has considerable experience in litigation and her areas of particular experience include property and conveyancing claims, construction claims and personal injury claims.

Laura has successfully defended a number of high value and complex professional indemnity claims. Laura has carried out intricate coverage investigations in relation to dishonesty and successor practices.

Notably, Laura has taken a coverage dispute with another insurer, concerning claims worth £1.1 million, to arbitration and won.
